With the 9th edition of the Wave Sky, Mizuno aims to make you feel like you’re floating on clouds with every step. And with some crucial improvements to this cushioned daily trainer, the brand certainly delivers on that goal.

The biggest update in this neutral running shoe is in the midsole unit. The Wave Sky 8 features a smooth, layered midsole unit with plush, nitrogen-infused ENERZY NXT foam on top and a firmer EVA foam underneath. This unique foam combination provides a soft, cloud-like feeling underfoot without sacrificing the inherent stability and balance the Wave Sky is most known for.

Along with an updated design in the midsole unit, the Wave Sky 9 features a smooth, pronounced rocker geometry and a lower, natural 6mm drop to keep you moving forward in comfort. The redesigned flex pattern outsole adds some durability while also increasing the stiffness in the forefoot for a snappy toe-off. Despite being a neutral, high-cushioned shoe, the newest Wave Sky incorporates these unique features for a balanced, performance-focused, and stable feel that keeps you moving forward.

On top, you’ll find a refreshed upper design that securely wraps the foot while offering some structure and softness for extra comfort on long runs and recovery runs. The stretchy woven upper is designed to be flexible and adapt to your foot while offering a secure lockdown in the midfoot.
